Microsoft®
Live Meeting - How to Record a Meeting
Live
Meeting can record both audio and the web together. The recording
is saved to a Windows Media file (.wmv) as well as a Microsoft Hi-Fidelity
format recording file for enhanced playback.
How
do I record audio with Live Meeting?
There are two ways to include audio with a Live Meeting recording:
- Record with telephone
conferencing audio via the phone - There is an option when recording
with live meeting to select "configure phone" which
prompts the live meeting server to dial a phone line into your
audio teleconference call. Once the phone line is connected pressing
"record" will include both audio and the web together.

conferencing audio. Or view the 3 minute instructional video below.
- Record
audio with your computer speakers - The other option to capture
audio with your live meeting recording is to speak into your computer
microphone to capture the audio.
How
does playback work?
When you press the Record button in live meeting there is an option
to save the recording to either your desktop or to service (which
is the Microsoft hosted server).
- Desktop:
If you save the recording to your desktop the file will be a Windows
Media File (.wmv).
- Service/server:
If you save the recording to the server there are two versions
available for playback (a) a Windows Media format and (b) a Microsoft
high-fidelity format file. The recording is stored for up to 90
days with the standard host license or up to one year with the
professional version license.
